#RadicalBlackFemme artist-in-residence, Nana Yaa (@haus_of_yba) has been hooking up a virtual gallery experience for you to plug into and take a glimpse into her world of Wearable Art.

The uniqueness of Nana Yaa's practice is in conceptualizing innovative methodologies of approaching fashion design by removing preconceived notions of objects and their uses. Her “Conceptual Couture” textile-infused wearable artworks diffuse the boundaries between fashion, technology and traditional art by combining traditional textiles and repurposed objects such as synthetic hair, cutlery, mirrors, cardboard and popsicle sticks to create unexpected textiles and unconventional fashion silhouettes that reimagine the human form both in shape and in movement.
